I have just changed my break pads and am trying to bleed them but nothing seems to be working any suggestions? 2003 ford exp.
I used a vacuum pump to bleed mine and have had good results. If you dont have access to a vacuum pump you might want to buy one from Harbor Freight or Northern Tool if your parts store doesn't have one. Advance Auto Parts may have a loaner that you can use.

How exactly did you do this? I've been looking for a way to remove all the old brake fluid from the system so that I can replace it. This sounds like a cool idea.

You can get a manual vacuum pump from the parts store and remove the fluid from the system one wheel at a time, starting with the wheel furtherest from the m.c., or you could rig up a bottle with 2 fittings, 1 for the fluid to enter and 1 for the vacuum, then using the vacuum from the manifold to the brake booster run a hose to the vac. side on the bottle and with a hose from the bleeder port to the bottle start the engine and open the bleeder, the vacuum will pull the fluid through the system into the bottle. You must watch your m.c. reservoir to insure you keep fluid in it as you do not want to get air into the system. Bleed each caliper until you get clear fluid and then go to the next one.
I don't have a pic or a drawing of my rig but it's pretty simple. If you can't figure it out I'[ll try to post a pic of it.
