Good lord, you would have to pay 70 bucks a copy for the sea critters at a good seafood spot here in chicago. Hope you enjoyed dinner, I'm salivating.

Casa's New Sneekers

Here are Casa's new tires & rims:

M35A3 Rims (Slighly modified) with Continental MPT-81's 365/80 R20 tires, and Hutchinson 11x20 beadlocks.

I mounted the beadlocks & tires on the rims with only the tools I regularly carry on Casa! (OH MY GOD WHAT A LEARNING CURVE!!!!)

If you have a medium heavy duty adventure vehicle, and desire to learn about the tire mounting process... PM me (non-owners & tire kickers need not apply)! The .1%

Hey Gang! Sorry it has been so long!
I'm starting to do research on Casa's next remodel and my "googling" brought me back to this forum and this thread!

The next remodel will have nothing to do with the Cummins 6BTAA ( with minor pump & turbo modifications +/- 340hp), the Allison MT653, or the Rockwell T-case.

The biggest changes will be the new FDS-90 front axle with a No-Spin differential and disc brakes, and the modifications the rear Rockwell/ Meritor H172. With the H-172 I have a No-Spin for that as well but I'm learning that my desire to make Casa have rear disc brakes as well... Is going to be a bit of a challenge!

I have learned that some school buses (F 700) had disc brakes and I was hoping that NumberDummy might be able to help me track down the correct components.

Are you talking about air or hydraulic?

On the hydraulic side you will run into the Lucas Girling brakes. Very expensive to fiddle with.

Here is the new front axle with a spare machined top knuckle that I plan on mounting the hydraulic steering assist ram to.

Hydraulic. The truck came stock a hydraulic/ over dual hydraulic system that I REALLY LIKE! When I remotored Casa, I put on another belt driven hydraulic pump for the steering so that if one fails, flip the coin... You will be without only one! Steering or brakes. Better than both, I figure.

So after spending WAY to much time yesterday & today trying to figure whether I can find/ bolt this vintage hardware together... I'm just going OEM "industrial". Maybe if I am lucky I'll "scrap" together a dual hydraulic disc brake system for my camper.

You probably already have Lucas Girling brakes--how is the parking brake activated? Do you have spring cans on the rear backing plates like so?

No, actually the rear axle was changed to a Rockwell H172 when the truck was converted to 4x4.
