Idling problems

I have a 91 F250 with a 5.8L engine. It is idling very rough and smoking black when idling. I have replaced the fuel pressure regulator, O2 sensor, Throttle position sensor, EGR and PCV valves, EGR solenoid, idle control sensor, map sensor and air temp. sensor. As well as new plugs, distributor, cap, and rotor. I had it put on the scanner and the codes pointed to the map sensor and air temp sensor. I replaced them both but it is still running the same. Any ideas?

I see you have a new FPR, what is the pressure at idle with the vacuum hose attached and disconnected?

You can pull the codes yourself with a piece of wire or purchase a code reader for ~35 USD. I suggest you clear the codes then rerun the tests to verify you did not install a faulty part or have a wiring issue.

I didn't try it with the vacuum hose off. With it on it reads 32 psi. Where can you get the code readers?
