My 1993 F 250 has an odd OBD1 test connector. Instead of the usual 6 pin (4 on the bottom, 2 on top), mine is a 4 pin - all in a row. I need to get the codes but can't find a code reader that fits, and all the instructions on getting the codes without a reader use the 6 pin connector. If anyone can tell me how to do the test with this connector, I would appreciate it.
That's where it's at, but it's not a 6 in a row, it's a 4 in a row and it has the STI connector mounted next to it. It looks like the 6 pin, but without the two upper pins.
When I turned it over to get the wire colors, I found that it is the standard 6 pin connector. Someone had done such a good job of taping it back together (and covering holes), that it looked original. Thanks.
Ford Fuel Injection How To Run a Self-Test Here is how to get the codes withiout a code reader. Yours should be 3 digit codes.
If your check engine light is working ignore the part with the meter and test light.
Thanks to all. I had always just had the parts store run the code check for me (free), but their tester wasn't working. But as easy as that was, I'll just do it myself from now on.
