It is over a 100 degrees here today so I thought it would be a good test for my new radiator shroud and engine cooling system. I have a High performance 460/c6 combo. I decided to drive my wife over to the commissary at Mar AFB. in our 56 to try it out. Here are my non scientific results.
18"flex fan
185 deg high flow thermostat.
flow kooler high flow water pump
50/50 anti freeze with a bottle of water wetter super coolant
cruising between 45 and 70 mph. including some stops for signs and signals approx 30 mins out and 30 mins back. 185-190 deg.
The last mile is mostly dirt road so avg. speed was between 5 and 10 mph. it reached just barely 200 deg.
Air conditioning was blowing ice cold the whole way.
It was a short test but I am really happy with the results.
I wish I could Keith, I live in the county and we have trying to get our roads paved for the 20 years I've been here. A few neighbors here and there have paid to hire private paving companies to pave in front of their properties, but it remaines a patchwork of dirt, pavement, dirt, pavement, etc.
It is a big reason I don't have more miles on my truck. Everytime I go out in it, it gets covered in a layer of dust.
When I win that damn lottery I'll pave the whole thing!
