new to the fourm
Good morning to all, my name is ryan and I am about to pick up my first ford super duty. Its a 1991 F-Super Duty its got the 460 and a 5 speed. I will be the 3rd owner of it, it has less than 100,000 on the odometer and overall in pretty good shape. Im not too familiar with this model of truck and am hoping that you guys could give me some good advice and pointers on making this truck last a long time.

Use the search function to zero in on specific questions you have about your truck. I bought my truck a month and a half ago and this forum is invaluable for answering questions I had about my truck. Mine is an '88 also with less than 100K miles but there were all sorts of little things wrong with it, too many to list. I never failed to find an answer using the forum's search function and as a result all those little things are fixed. Really smart, experienced people on this site. Regarding longevity, it's no different than any other vehicle; change the filters and fluids regularly, etc. One longevity tip I learned on this forum is to spray the rear inner fenderwells with using a garden hose to keep them from rusting. Another rust preventer is to take off the doorsills and kick panels off and dig/vacuum all the junk out of the crevises. Water drains from the floor into those crevises and if they're filled with dirt the water sticks around and rusts the floor and rocker panels.
