Bone dry, how much 134a?

I plan on putting a vacuum on the A/C in the morning. Question is how many cans will the system hold?

Thanks

If you don't show a leak with the vacuum test you could have a restricted orifice tube causing the hi-side high pres. Hard to trouble shoot on the internet on some things. Not everything is black and white. And you still need good fan operation when the A/C is on. That is probably controlled thru the PCM/ECM. Techs, correct me if that last statement is incorrect. Dam electronics.

no the fan will not come on or at least to a point were you can tell. its a duty cycled unit.
the orface tube is in the liquid line. its the small line next to the evap case with the quick disconnect.

Im not sure what issue you are having. high side to high, whats the low side doing?

did you evac the 134a and see how much was in it to start with. either under or overfull will cause no cooling effects.
was there every any icing on the lines at the evap case?
what were the pressures before when you checked?
have you put dye in the system and tryed to find a leak?

just an fyi Im not really an a/c guy. I try to stick with engines.

The presures were in that thread. No icing on any tubes were seen. And have not used any dye yet. But all of my fittings are clean.

Bad thing is all of my reading are for not. As I was getting the readings I had to go inside. Bad thing the gauges came loose a I loss some freon. Dont know how much. I plan on putting a vacuum on it and see what it does. Then add 3 cans and a orifus tube as well.

Just need to find the orifus tube. Are there and O rings that need to be replaced then this is replaced?

not unless they are damaged.

if you had no iceing of the lines then odds are you were not low to begin with. low freon level in a car will cause ice to form on the evap lines.
