'98 explorer #4 misfire????

My explorer developed a miss again in my 4.0 and the check engine light came on, I went to autozone and he told me #4 cylinder has a misfire! I just replaced the plugs with autolite and motorcraft plug wires about 2000 miles (5 months ago) after i had found a bad plug wire when it acted the same as it is now! I checked the plug and it is ok, also checked #4 wire, it looks good, i can see spark arcing when pulling off of the coil and at the spark plug! Any other suggestions to check?

yes! Transplant the wire and plug to a different cylinder, see if miss fire follows..

That crossed my mind, but won't know if it follows w-out getting code scanned again right? I wish that i woulda kept my old wires! I hate throwing things away!

Yes clear the codes, Pull - battery term for 10 min. When it returns scan.

Most auto stores in the states will scan for free, a basic code scanner $35.00
