ok son just bought a 88 f150 with a 302, here is the problem...it has sat for several years and when we got it it would start and idle but nothing more, give it gas it would die, changed the fuel filter and then the reat intank pump went out, changed it, draing the sas and put in fresh, it started right up both at idle and when reving the motor, sut it off and it wouldnt start again, will run if you shoot either to it but nothin else.....it has plenty of fuel pressure now and i am thinking the injectors might be cloged up but not sure where to go look now.....any suggestions

My wife's car was sitting for many years, and it did the same thing when I got it back on the road., I replaced part after part, slowly it was getting better, I then got sick of it, and spent the cash to get a can of SeaFoam, with the motor at operating temperature, dump half in at half throttle, then with it still at half throttle, dump the rest of the bottle in, and let it sit for 20 minutes, when you start it, let it idle till the smoke goes away, I just got finished doing it to my wife's car, since I can't sleep......and it's never run better.

How do you know it has "plenty of fuel pressure", If you did not put a fuel pressure gauge on it you are only guessing. You need 28 PSI fuel pressure for it to even start. The it will idle at 32-34 PSI and around 40 at WOT.
If you did check it with a gauge and got 30+ PSI fuel pressure then get a noid light and plug it into one of the injector plugs. Crank the engine and see if it flashes.
If the noid light flashes then maybe the injectors are all plugged. Also check the vacuum line and wiring going to the MAP sensor.
Could also be a bad ECT sensor.
If the noid light did not flash then check for power going to the computer on pins 1, 37 & 57 with the key on and any pins pushed out of the computer plug. If you have power check the small black wire with a green stripe at the NEG post of the battery for a good ground. If that is OK then check for grounds at pin 40 & 60 of the computer plug. If the grounds are all good then change the computer.
truck will staart and run when "misting either" in the throttle body so i am pretty sure this is a fuel problem but not sure where, probably going to attempt to take the fuel rail and injectoors out today....not sure how to clean them but gonna try....son is an unhappy camper, sold a nice running jeep to get this and cant drive it....
I would find out if the injectors are firing or not before taking out the fuel rail.
You can rent a noid light at a auto parts store or see if you can hear them ticking as you crank the engine or put power across the injector pins with a 9 volt DC battery and you should hear it tick (do not use the 12 Volt from the trucks battery or you can burn out the coil of the injector).
