335 to FE?????

Ok, i am attempting to build me a dedicated trail rig to run the muddy field and such. It currently has a 351M/400 i do not knw which,i havent gotit home yet. What i want to do is pull the 335 engine/ C6 and install a FE410 in it. For transmission, iwas thinki a t19. (ifit aint a stick, i aint driving it.)

What is going to be the major issues with such a swap. Its in a 78 F150.

Lot easier to make the 400 (or make the 351m into a 400) perform.

--everything fits and stays as is--your budget isn't eaten up with motor mounts, cross members, accessory drives, linkages, one or all.

--That 410 FE, is it already built?

Yes. The 410 was in my trail rig i have. I want to keep the motor and put a t18 behind it. The current rig has been crushed via rolling.

the 400 that is in the 78 has a spun bering and some crank damage because of the bering. The 400 will have to be rebuilt and that cost more than just the transmission bellhousing and the mounting hardware for the 78.

hey, sorry. Ive been offline for a while taking care of some business.
I have got the 78 converted over to the 410 and T19 with a NP208F, and Dana 60's front and rear. Currently working on the lift kit for it, and after that its paint and ready to go. Hoping to be ready for the 4th of july run.

I assume the FE dropped into the same engine perches with no mods? Was it 1" lower like some say?

had to reinstall the mounts for the FE, but it slid right down on the frame perches without incident.
