Exclamation HELP truck is down!!

I just finished rebuilding the injectors in stg 1's last night/ this morning and My boss decides to be a *&^$&#)# and cancels my day off and says show up tonight or dont ever show up again. So I sepent this morning racing to put it back together. installed the injectors turned ti over by hand clearing the cylinders etc. and got it started. Same as its done when Ive had the injectors out before it smoked like it was on fire and was lousy on power til the injectors purge. I left my house and made 1 stop and got on the highway and then it quit like somebody turned the key CEL and rolled to the shoulder and wouldnt restart I didnt have many tools with me as most of the are still at the house post emergency assembly. I checked the oil on the dipstick and thats about all I could do at the time plus I was insanely pissed still fighting with my boss as now Its my fault that Im gonna be late because it didnt finish it sooneer when he cancels my day off, at 6 am this morning, So I havent had time to check it out, had somebody else pick me up and take me to work, got my dad and his friend with a wrecker picking up the truck, taking it to my house. Still outta my head mad and not think ing straight need ideas as to why it wouldnt restart.

Shutting off like the key was switched off means something electrical. Got a scanner to see if any codes were tripped? Start simple with the fuses. Since you had the valve covers off, check the 42 pin connector over the driver side valve cover. Any smoke while cranking? Does the tach bounce?

Just to vent a little bit about my boss. I work for a trucking company my bossess brother owns it and is never here, My boss has never worked in the trucking world until he came here a couple years ago. Since he is the owners brother they put him in charge and he has no idea what he's doing, And hes on a massive power trip, he used to be a cop but not just any cop the captain of the sheriffs departmant and was kicked out and black balled from every law enforcement agency in the state as well as most others due to the internal report put MOST of the blame for his last assignment at his feet for complete failure to lead, resulting in death. Oh did I forget to mention he was the officer in charge at the Columbine shooting. Yeah hes REALLY a great guy (extreme sarcasm).

I changed the IDM out less than a month ago after my 140 died and put in the 120, checked the fuses on the side of the road didnt find any bad, no smoke while cranking, didnt have a scanner with me when it died, didnt pay any attention to the tach while cranking too busy beeing pissed off. Right now I debating weteher or not Ill come back to work tommorow. Especially since he loves to say your doing this because Im not going to, he may just have to, that or maybe I vleave in the middle tof the night and leave him paying 33 guys $20 an hour to do nothing when Im not here to manage, not to mention leaving $10,000,000.00 in merchandise at the warehouse, and it not being delivered on time where he'll have to answer for it.

Sounds like he's in need of a second chance. I'd post up down in the general forum section and see if any of the LEO's here know of any openings in their state that your boss might apply for.

Otherwise you're screwed and it's only a matter of time before you get a new job. Since trucking is pretty much down right now with the economy the way it is, all you can do is suck it up and come here and complain. Doesn't hurt to start looking around though.

Any WTS light?
Check fuse #22 under the hood. If blown replace after unplugging the fuel heater.
Watch for the tach to move.

Well then, the only other instant shut down that I know of is the CPS.

I thought of that too, and I had a spare in the truck but the 10mm was at the house with the rest of the tools from the build still connected to the ratchet from tightening down the valve covers.

Check connections on starter solenoid.
Just went though this with my truck. Would fix something, then the truck wouldn't start and I'd have no power.
Fumble with battery connections and it would come back. Confused I eventually found out the 5th time wiggling wires that it was the starter solenoid connections. Had to tighten them down.

Just a thought buddy. =)

Check your ground to your block as well.

I was way low on oil after my stage 1 install.

Sounds like what happened to mine after trying to fix my injectors. Died suddenly. Still turns over but no oil getting to the HPOP.

Have you checked your HPOP resevoir yet?

UPDATE

OK this morning went home and tried it, it started,..... backed out of the drive way and started rolling made it 50 yards to the stop sign, and it quit, wouldnt start. rolled it back to the house still no start changed the cps just in case,... 3 times, opened the fuel filter housing to check the filter seemed ok, tried it again and it started, (Barely). seemed ok rapped up good and held it there and let out of the throttle and it quit. Again no start. At this point the batteries are getting kinda weak so Ive been using 2 guage jumper cables to help it. I change the fuel filter and clean the fpr screen just for the sake of arguement. While watching it crank it does get a very very tiny amount of smoke from the stacks implying it is getting some fuel but very little. Now i disconnected the GP's from the GPR to conserve battery as it shouldnt need the right now, and because it shot it with a very very light touch of starting fluid, its 100*+ out side right now so that stuff if vaporizing almost instantly, so next to none is actually getting to the cylinders, but what does causes it to start sometimes. I stopped at this point had to get some sleep. Fast forward about 5 hrs, I try it again no start. I again give it the tiniest touch of starting fluid and it starts fast, I set my AIC to hold a high idle of 1500 and leave it alone trying to get it to purge air, and any water in the fuel or some other fuel contaminant from the injectors, (also not I added a fair amount of injector cleaner when I changed the fuel filter just in case of some funny fuel issues. I leave it running and walk away, I come back about 20 minutes later and its dead again, and no start. At this point I had to leave to get to work. So something is causing it to shut down and not get much fuel when trying to start. My daughter I found out broke the code reader so I cant check for any and I cant get it to run long enough to get it somewhere to get them checked. Suggestions or ideas?
