body swap

I want to replace my 88 body with an 81 that is in great shape. Is there any thing that I should know about before I start this?

I would check and measure long and hard both chassis/bodies before doing anything, but i think you won't run into much trouble. Keep close atention to the linkages and take pictures of where the brake lines and others are connected.

Thanks. I will be doing a hydrualic clutch swap for the t18 I will be useing. Being a diesel most of the engine wiring has been made by me lol. As well as the fuel lines. I Will need to find a truck with the hydrualic clutch to locate the master but that should be pretty straight forward.

I'm not sure about the 81, but my old '83 had a stamp mark in the firewall where the hydraulic master should go. Didn't need to measure or anything, just drilled out the outline and it was perfect. I used a '95 F150 as a donor. The clutch pedal assembly was noticeably different between the two trucks, and I ended up welding together a bracket so I could use the '95 pedals in the '83.(the '83 had been an auto originally)
