ok so at work we were slow as can be so i pulled my truck into the shop to do some routine maintenance... just planned on changing the oil, and checking all the fluids. here lately i had notice a slight "clunk" when i took off. the weird thing was it was intermittant. so i am checking everything out. balljoints:tight. TRE's:tight. everything in the front end was tight and snug. at this point i am scratchin my head since the noise sounded like it was coming from the passenger front. keep on looking everywhere for anything, and then BAM! i discover that the u joint at the front of my rear driveshaft is shot. i order both to be safe. replaced the u joints myself. problem solved right? not quite. as im draining the oil, i look up and gasp. grab an inspection light, and there in front of me is my passenger side engine mount....in two pieces...FML! so that being said, the u joints are done. my question is any suggestions that will make this engine mount change a little easier on me? any tricks? i have located a hoist to use to raise the engine, have all necessary tools, and plenty of time tomorro(off day). i am replaceing both while i am there since the other one is original as well.
so....put tension on hoist chain to engine hoist area. loosen tranny mount, and both engine mounts. raise engine. remove mounts. install new mounts. am i missing anything?
o believe me after i saw that one, i checked ALL the rest. the trans mount is looking really good, but the other engine mount has a little dryrotting so i am replacing it as well.
This isn't a hard job at all.....the 300 makes it all the more easy. Plenty of room, etc. You might want to do both sides, though. Cheap insurance and all. I did this job on my '95 a few years ago and it was a cakewalk. Can't remember how much the parts were but they weren't prohibitive.

i got the parts...with the shop discount that i get at napa, for the two mounts and both those rear u joints im in the hole 50 bucks rite now...not to bad..lol.
