I can't seem to identify the little white plastic hose on the left side of the pic. It appears to have rotted awat and the assembly is connectoed to an arm on the passenger side fender. Anyone know what this is?
Well, there's another that's under the dash on the passenger side, that one controls the air routing in the cab to either blow from the dash vents or up down to the floor vents (i believe). The actuator under the hood is the door for a/c or vent, although i could be mistake. Perhaps somebody else could confirm or correct me, but i'm fairly certain that's it. Run through all the positions for your ventillation system, i.e., hot/cold, up/down, ac/vent, reg ac/max ac.
It's possible, when you turn your ac on, does air come out of the vents or no? If your ac clutch is turning and your system is charged, it's entirely possible that is your culprit. If you run your ac for a while, do you have any condensation build up?? You'd be able to tell because water would be dripping from under the right wheel well. If the door is not actuating to route the air properly, you won't get it in the cab.
I'm quite ... educated on the AC working here after my recent clutch failure.
They say some systems wont engage if the system is not full either.
Not sure there, since its electronic actuated for the clutch.
Could be a sensor that is checking for it.
can you free spin the clutch with the truck off?
When the truck is on and on AC mode, does the clutch lock up and spin then? or does it drag? or attempt to lock up and not spin?
You can test the magneto on the clutch by pulling the connector directly behind it and jumping each pin to the battery. one to positive and one to negative.
It will engage the clutch, since its just an electromagnet.
If you get it to engage, and it still spins, you might just need to change the shims inside.
Which in this case is probably that the clutch is wore enough that the shim is preventing engagement, in that case remove the shim and reinstall the clutch.
