Navigator front speakers

I have a 99 navigator, the drivers side front speaker is cutting in and out like theres a loose wire. I cant seem to get the grill off to check it, do I have to take off the whole door panel? If so has anyone done this and know the best way to go about it? Thanks!

Usually yes. Door panels are typically held on by 2-3 screws and some kind of clip. Pull up the window switch panel, any reflectors, and look in the door handle area for screws. Once you have two out and are pretty sure there isn't a third, try lifting up on the panel. Around 99 ford went to a lift up and pull out system over the old push pin door retainers. If it doesn't lift out, pull a corner back enough to see the retaining mechanism.
