Question Leave Power Inverter Connected?

Ok, so I added a cheapish 400w power inverter for the upcoming trip to Indiana and then RRE to power the kid's DVD player, charge cell phones, etc. It will get upgraded to a decent unit someday but this was a last minute decision and I needed to find something locally. I ran 6 gauge wire from underneath the rear seat where I mounted the inverter all the way to the main battery. Although the inverter has a power switch which I plan on making use of, the directions say I should disconnect it from the battery when not in use. Do I need to be worried about leaving it shut off but still connected to the battery or is that just their legal department doing their duty to make sure I can't sue them

Mine has been in the tool box for about 4 years hooked to the battery. Add a fuse right after the battery and your good to go.

Mine is connected the same way, been that way for 2 years. Just turn it off at the switch and you should be fine.

Mine is also hooked up the same way, minus the fuse. Gotta get around to that one day. No problems so far (knock on wood).
