Throttle sticking at first press
When the engine is off, the throttle plate moves smooth as silk, no obstructions and it looks clean. When the engine is running, there is that slight "stiction" when first pressing the pedal. It happens when revving from idle by hand under the hood as well. I am suspecting that it is not the cable or any assembly from the pedal to the throttle body, but rather something in or connected to the throttle body itself.
Would the IAC, MAF or other component cause this? It doesn't appear to be the physical parts up to and including the throttle plate assembly itself. What else kicks into effect when the engine is running and is connected to the throttle plate assembly?
My mileage is just passing 105K, and I'll be taking it in for plugs after the next trip. I'll see if I can convince them to clean up the IAC again while they're tinkering in the neighborhood of the top end, since they just cleaned the throttle body a few months ago. Maybe replace it if they find something amiss. They're a good shop and have treated me well. So far the worst I've had to deal with has been ball joints (just love the greaseless ones... not!), brake rotor wear causing issues more often than I'd like (I know it needs surfacing when downhill grades start vibrating a little), and some rough idling when I first got it new.
