A/T shift priblem

MY Auto 95 350 (7.3), after several hrs of pulling 25' Rv has had a problem, pulling in ov/dr, at about 40 to 45 mph, it begins to free spool, like it wanted to downshift but couldn't, I coast a little ways, then give it some pedal, and then it engauges, hard, like a racecar A/T with a stiff shift kit. During this The OFF lite is blinking. what should I look at? Is there a shift can like on fox mustangs? Took it to one shop, no codes, didn't have time to leave it with them.

Doesn't sound likely not with the OD light flashing, what method/reader did they use to attempt to pull the codes?

When pulling a load like that you should be lock out O/D. I always do when pulling our 30 footer and would even with a smaller/lighter model.
I have a small hallmark tool trailer, I don't lock out O/D with it but its right around 3K. However if I find myself in a fairly hilly area and it tends to cause it dropping in and out of O/D, I lock it out until I return to fairly flat terrain again.

Anyway try pulling the codes again, Ford Fuel Injection How To Run a Self-Test no "reader" needed.
Post back with whatever you find out.

At that very spot, where it shows the self test plug hole, I have a ground wire bolted on. Guess I'll run it by that shop again today or tomorrow The code reader he used, I remeber it pluged under the dash, he said it cost 5 grand...?. If I remember right it started the truck, revs the engine, does all kinds o'stuff.
