Brake Switch

I have a 2001 F-150 Screw 2wd with a 5.4L. My brake pedal switch doesn't work like it should, or at least I don't think it does. I can press on the brake pedal and release it ever so slightly and the brake lights go out. Sometimes I can almost bring the truck to a stop without the brake lights even coming on. I have replaced the brake switch thinking that it was going bad but that didn't work. Nothing seems to be broken where the switch mounts.
Does anybody have the same problem with there Screw? My truck also has the adjustable pedals.
I need to get this fixed because I pull my 20 ft. enclosed trailer that has electric brakes.
Thanks for the help

lay on the floor and push the switch in and out with your finger.. have a buddy see if the lights cooperate... you might have a bigger problem, or maybe the switch just needs adjusted or sprayed with WD40.

replace front and rear brake pads, reset your rear brakes after that by going in reverse about 5 miles an hour or so and tapping on your brakes, you will hear a clicking, that is the brake assembly in the back self-adjusting - bleed the brakes / all that will have the brakes coming on a-lot sooner and firmer - meaning your pedal wont be going that far

Front and rear brakes are fairly new.
I forgot to mention the truck has 4 wheel disc.
