Talked to quite a few people and most seeem anxious to get a GTG started now that we have alot more active members. The planning of this one needs to be direct and to teh point, otherwise we will spend all our time deciding where to go before we decide when. I propose we do it at one time and give it 1 week only for ideas and dates such as yadda yadda place on yadda yadda date and so on
then we will pick the most common place and date and set the standard for that
So I will suggest... Newbraunsfels (tubing down Guadelupe) weekend of the 20th
After we make a suggested place for the GTG, we will then set times and dates and what to bring and so forth, we will have an itenerary set for the GTG
I like Robert's idea a lot and I'll add some fuel to the fire. There is a Cabellas in Buda, which isn't far from NewBraunsfel. I've heard that there is a little car show there every saturday night. I've never been to it, just hearsay. There is also a Schliterbaughn in New Braunsfel. I went tubing about two months ago and the one I went to, went right by Schliterbaughn. That was my first time tubing in Texas and it was a blast.
My vote is for Robert's idea, but I'm open for other ideas. We all have opinions, so don't be afraid to throw some out there.
Good idea Robert. I'd probably be down to go. Cabelas does have a little car show every week, i just can't remember when. We used to have a meeting there once a month for a diesel club my brother and i was in. If anyone else is interested in meeting up at Cabelas then there are also quite a few places to eat right beside Cabelas. Maybe meet up at Cabelas, eat breakfast then head to New Braunfels for some tubing.
Just throwing more ideas out there, but i'm ok with meeting up in New Braunfels and tubing fo sho! i haven't been tubing in about 4 years now.
Guys I appreciate the kind words but the original idae was not mine, I just beat everyone to the punch for the post, Rocky, I believe was the first one for the idea
yeah I shot him a PM. this night shift deal has me on crappy hours.. i don't really have much to show or do. wish i could take him out on the lake or something, but got no boat. offered to take him to Texas Heatwave though. that should be some fun.
I'd go but one my '89 is retired. She could'nt make it out to san antonio, and second its too far with no cash coming in. If it were closer I could go but it would be in my silverado. The '66 has no fenders or power steering and like I said, the '89 has retired on her bad tires and it got so hot in the cab when the rearview mirror fell off, a chunk of the windsheild came with it.
