Hard Start issue

Truck has been to the dealer- No codes. The dealer can't find the problem.

The truck at times will be hard to start. It will crank and then run very rough and as if on olnly 2 cylynders before dying. It sounds awful with lots of rattle. Acts like no fuel maybe. There is no smoke out the exhaust. It can take up to 10 minutes to start.

Once it does start it will run fine and not do this again for days or a couple of months. It is getting worse.

I have searched and can't find anything on this. There was another guy at a trail ride that had the same issue so I hope someone else has had this and can tell me how to fix it.

Thanks!

Sorry Guys,

2003 6.0 PSD F350 4x4, 6spd. No mods. 120k. Four injectors changed by Ford 20k ago when the truck was hesitating while driving. Happens any time but seems to be worse when cold.

The only thing I have done is check to make sure the fuel bowl is full. Pump runs. Filters changed regularly. Oil is full. Oil pressure gauge seems to work as advertised.

ok so have you tried pluging in the truck to see if the concern goes away?
check the icp sensor for leaks and if you have a way check icp voltage both koeo and koer that may help.
there is a tech folder on this site with some great info on nostart diag as well

I understand evrything you said except plugging in the truck. Do you mean the block heater? No I have not tried that. Never occured to me when the outside temp is 90*.

I can check the voltage of the ICP. I will look into the no start section.

Thanks!
