OIL LEAK
thanks
brian
I would clean the valley up really good, as clean as possible, and then run it for a while and watch for a leak.
I'ma guess that the truck is an automatic.
The drain for the valley goes down behind the flexplate and flywheel.
its easier to do this if you pull the fuel bowl, but dont have too.
soak up the oil. use some simple green and clean out the valley up the sides.
Get all the oil out.
you can wash the valley out with some water and a sprayer.
The simple green isn't very caustic, but good at breaking down oil.
there is a pocket up under the hpop that is hard to clean out. I had all sorts of crap in mine, got that cleaned out.
Clean out the water with an air compressor and some rags.
Then with it super clean like that. start it up, after you up the fuel bowl back in.
if it leaks when its cold, that will really help. otherwise you have to wait till it warms up.
But the appropriate part of the valley will show where the leak is.
If only oil up by the hpop, then hpop. randomly in the middle, its a plug on the oil heads.
If its under the turbo, then EBPV or Turbo Pedestal O-rings.
There are 2 plugs at the end of the oil galleys that can leak, but don't often, make sure you wipe them down before you start the motor as well.
You said you were getting it down both sides of the motor.
Just a thought. Generally oil in the valley keeps your starter well lubricated.
