like said in the heading i got my first diesel! i upgraded from a 96 f150 with a 302 to an 03 f250 with a 6.0! i wanted a 7.3 but i think this 6.0 is great, and im sure ill love it more after i replace egr and heads!....
any way ford truck enthusists(sp?) watcha got for suggestions on a diesel truck?! im not goin to be pulling anything crazy maybe a trailer of dirtbikes and quads. but id like to see some speed and hear some turbo sprool! this truck is BONE STOCK, besides 35in tires
Your going to love the 6.0 over the 7.3 performance wise. You will probably want to get some gauges to monitor engine oil temps, engine coolant temps,. A 15 degree spread between the two will let you know to get the oil cooler and egr cooler replaced:lots of threads her on that situation. A coolant filter is highly recommended. I also read in here about oversize wheels and tires eating up transmissions if you do not get a tune for it.Unless your going to drag race this motor bone stock has more power than you will ever need. Mine is stock and I have not found a mountain yet that slows her down I actually can push on the pedal and gain more speed with my 9500 lbs 5th wheel.
After you get the head studs installed get a tuner with Inovative's Extreme Tunes on it.... Lots of fun I did a boosted launch the other day and the tires spun all of the wan into third gear.... LOL
