i read a post on here on how to test this. i tested mine and iam getting 1.2v at idle and 3.5v at WOT. i thought i read that it was supposed to be 5v at WOT. IS MINE BAD? i cant seem to find where i read this. BTW it is on my newly aquired 92 f350 crew cab, auto.
i had to replace the fipl on mine as well some time back now, i remember trying it set to 1.5v at idle and man did it shift monster hard and late. i backed it down to 1.3v and it found it more to my liking. -stock is supposed to be 1.0v flat i think, at least in my 91'
when i tried to get 5v at wide open i managed to read it at idle to and it was a whopping 2.7 or so, and i didn't figure that would do me any good.
the sensor i bought was cheap so i didnt expect it would be perfect, but mine as well barley skims above 3.5v at wide open. it may just be a cheap sensor thing, i know the transmission computer reads that voltage as how hard your holding down the loud pedal so if its supposed to be at 5v and its only reading 3.5 the trans wont up the line pressure like its supposed to at full throttle and it could possibly damage the transmission if you drive at high throttle. i still have my cheap sensor myself but i drive nice and slow almost all the time, i figure after im done getting the head back on the engine, i might replace the sensor again.
but anyway, bad i dunno. probly just a cheap sensor, if you intend to tow often you might try getting a better sensor but i don't really know.
im trying to get dave s to move the thread here so others can help out more.honestly dave s is the guru with these trucks.but he has been a busy guy lately
