Three crazy questions.
We are working on a 1996, SWB, F150, 2WD, 4.9, M5OD.
1) Bank 1/Sensor 1. That is the front manifolds O2 sensor correct?
2) Does ford still sell the service manual for the 96 F serries?
3) I got a real odd cavitating sound that occurs after full clutch engagement in 1,2, and 3rd gear on hard acceleration. Sounds like a fan draging on the radiator but lower in note. No dammage to the fan, shroud, or radiator. I got the factory U joints still. I think I will try replacing them as they got 86k on them. I checked them but they feel good and tight. My next guess is throwout bearing which is quiet at all other times sooooooooo?

If your ford parts house doesn't have the factory service manual, you should be able to get it through: Service Manuals, Owner Manuals, Wiring Diagrams, Service Bulletins - Helm Incorporated

Sounds undernneth the vehicle so I doubt a waterpump bearing. I will check however. It is an idea.
No, the stick and engine suffer no unusual vibrations that I notice. I have had 2 fulie and 2 carbed 300s so I know the feel of them. Will check that too when I pull the belt.
I have owned a haynes for the past 7 years for these trucks. Though useful I am starting to outgrow it. I have a reputation of being a great diagnostician. Albeit one of the slowest SOBs you will ever meet. I hate buying un-needed parts.
No idea on which sensor that is?
