Seat belt locking?
So maybe it's just an old truck thing, but the seat belt retractor thing that the belt goes back into locks when you pull it out. So, when you put your seat belt on there is no slack in the belt and as you drive and hit bumps etc it gets tighter and tighter until you have to undo it so it doesn't cut you in half at the waist lol - is this just how these belts worked? Is there an adjustment on them? It doesn't matter how far out you pull the belt, even just a little bit and it locks like that. I know in our newer vehicles if you pull the belt alllll the way out it will lock like that so you can put a car seat in it or something. Anybody know how to fix this or is it just how it is? It's like this on both driver and passenger seats.

It's the inertia pendulum inside the retractor that locks the belt so you wont go forward in a head on crash that's causing it. There is no way to fix it without retrofitting new belts.
You have to be carefull retrofitting safety equipment, such as brakes, seat belts etc from factory specs, as it is most likely illegal, and will void your auto insurance.
