my cousin has a 2003 6.0 with 102.000 miles on it and the other day on his way home from work doing 45mph put a rod threw the oil pan. does anyone sell rebuilts for a decient price?
you might be able to buy a good used low mileage eng here, that has all fully updated yea, the 6.0 is junk
GotEngines.com can fit you up with a 7.3 L diesel or a 6.0L diesel engine. The variety of engines offered ranges from used low mileage engines, which applies to 6L engines mostly since there are not so may low mileage used 7.3L engines, due to attrition. The rebuilt 7.3L diesels are updated and improved to add even more reliability. There are plenty of good used factory updated 6.0L engines available, the best choice for a 6.0L may be one of the fully updated, improved reliability remanufactured units. New ones are available too, but make sure it is an upgraded version the 6.0L.

if they are junk, how are you going to find a good used one?
Check oasis, drive it, have a friens that knows 6.0's look it over.
Yes, I have had a few problems with mine, It is not perfect. But overall I would buy another 6.0. I have the money to get a 6.4 or even a 6.7. But when I look at them, and then drive my 6.0 I perfer the 6.0

You can also mod the 6.0 relatively easily and be at or better then 6.7 stock numbers with change left over compared to the price of a 6.7.
The joys of having an engine that people have a bad perception about is that you could probably haggle for a pretty good deal and with those savings get a pretty damn quick truck.
I keep seeing the Black Mamba site come up here but have not seen one post from someone who bought one. Any user reports on one would certainly be appreciated here. For the price, it looks like a lot for the dollar compared to 4 to 5 thousand for a used engine.

Me too.
I have a friend that told me they do a 7.3 also. Again - I have never heard of any that actually has one.
