hey guys im new here i was wondering wheres the best place to find a cheap radiator support for a 64-66 f-100 cheap. im only 15 and i dont make alot of money. thanks
Welcome to FTE...there were 3 different core supports used on the 1961 to 1966 trucks...what year is your truck ??? Is it 2 or 4WD...These supports are hard to find in good shape...and not cheap when they are found...I understand what its like to be young and have a new car...new to you I mean...
1965 F100 2WD trucks used one type, the 1966 F100 2WD trucks used another and the 1964 F100 2WD trucks used still another..How badly rusted is the core support on your truck ???
I have a 66 core support, its not perfect, but as I recall it would be good for a driver...
Feel free to ask questions...if you need or are trying to find parts though, post the full application, year, model,2 or 4WD and which engine and transmission yours has. Pictures are great to whenever possible. You can set up a gallery here too so others can see what you have to work with.
If you go to my gallery you will see alot of pics of various things...you click on my name, you will get a dropdown menu, click on the gallery link and it will take you there...
Being new to this, I would recomend getting a shop manual on CD, they run around 22-25 dollars..
thanks for the reply. its really rusted out on the bottom. i tried to put a signature up but couldn't figure it out. the truck is a 66 f100 2wd 4spd with a 428 cobra jet
Vendors all sell the same limited pool of parts, If price is objectionable then? If you wish to have your truck back to pristine expect to drop 20k in to it.
all i really need is the radiator support. my dad can make everything else we need, like floor pans cab corners ect. i picked up a pair of fenders and inner fenders off of a 65 i believe so all it really needs is alot of cab work and very little bed work
A 61 to 64 reproduction core support is easily adapted to the later 65 or 66 core by anyone with a modicum of fabrication skills. Its so easy your sister could do it, if you have one.
I'm curious if there are headers made for these trucks with the Cobra Jet bolt pattern. Am I correct that CJ heads have the diag bolt pattern at the port?
Someone probably makes a set that will work for std & CJ. I have seen car headers with both patterns.
