Went to a large swap meet around here and thought I found 2 radiatior core supports for my 68. I didn't pull the trigger because after talking with the guy, they were from a 73-79 and had a 24" opening. Measuring mine, it has a 27 1/2" opening.
Would the support have fit my truck and could the opening be modified or would it be better to use the correct support?
I did find the mounts for the apron to attach to the cab, with the aprons still on it. Ran those to the truck came back and the guy put out two more mounts w/o aprons so I grabbed those too. Only surface rust on both sets. This guy said he knows of some core supports in Nevada where he winters, but won't be back there until November.
Anyone have a decent radiator core support they can part with?
you can use the 73-79 core's you just need to modify it a bit here is a link that shows what you needs to be done. The Great Radiator Support Swap - FORDification.com as for the opining it is for the supper cool radiator i do believe.
