Intermittant ABS LIGHT/Speedo quits

Hey guys, I've searched this site and have tried most of the fixes but all to no avail.

Here is my problem. I have a 2007 6.0 F350 SD Crew Cab SRW. I just bought it in April and after a few hours of taking possession of the truck, I had the ABS light come on and Speedo/Odometer quit working. I shut down the truck and restarted it a few mins later and the light went out and the speedo worked fine. After a few mins of driving and the same problem reappeard. I took the truck to Ford and they couldn't look at it right away so I left it with them. They looked at it the next day and couldn't pull any codes off of it and couldn't duplicate the problem.

A few weeks later it happened again and I was able to get it to them and they were able to pull some codes off the computer. They ended up changing the instrument cluster ($950.00) and told me it was good to go.

A two weeks later the same problem reappeared. ARRRGH! So I brought the truck back and they went through everything. They checked all the sensors, the wire connections, they looked for the ever illusive green wire (corrosion), and checked for any moisture or water in any of the connectors. I too have checked all the connectors.

So again I took the truck back, and a week later, again the same problem! I took the truck back to Ford while the problem persisted and they re read the fault codes and they were the same as before. I can't remember which exact codes they were, but the just of it is the ABS is not communicating with the PCM, or something to that effect.

The last time this occured the truck was just idiling while I was hooking up my trailer. The truck had done several short trips through the day but had not done any hard pulling or hauling. The Temp at the time was around 29 degrees celcius or around 85 degrees F, and the AC was on. The ABS light/Speedo problem persisted for the rest of the day, but once the truck cooled off, the next morning all worked as normal. So I tried to duplicate the same conditions that day, as the outside temp was the same I ran the truck for a couple of hours and let it idle as well. Couldn't duplicate the problem.

Ford is at a stand still with this, and I am loosing my mind with this electrical gremlin. Guys any help would be most appreciated on this one.

Sorry for the long thread.

Cheers

Um, did anyone check the wire on, or the sensor itself on the back axle. The abs sensor. The only wires on the back pumkin. Usually throws off the speedo and throws the abs light when it is going out. Sometimes it is just dirty and can be cleaned, sometimes the connection is bad.

I checked all the wires going to the pumpkin and both front wheels. Cleaned the connections which were good, and checked for any breaks in the wires. Everything checked out.

I also learned that on the 2007, to lose the speedo you have to lose all three speed sensors. If one fails, speed sensing is still fed by any of the other two. The only common component that will cause the ABS light and Speedo to fail is the inst cluster or the ABS Module. Ford already changed the instrument cluster and today they decided to slave in a new ABS module. Hopefully that will resolve this issue. I hate intermittant electrical gremlins.

Cheers
