I'm rebuilding a 68 429 from a t-bird to put in my 68 f100. One of the heads was cracked and I'm having problems finding a matching head. I have a C8VEE and have found D3VE-A2A Will this head work the guys at the machine shop say they can make it work. I would like to here it from the forum before I buy this head.
D3VE-A@A heads are 91.4 CC, compared to 75.8. No way in the hell they can mill that much off a head to get the same cc's. Even so, the intake wouldn't fit.
They probably thought the chambers were the same and they could just convert the non-adjustabl stamp steel rocker arms to the positive stop rocker arm studs like the ones you have.
C8VE, C9VE and D0VE heads are virtually identical. Only difference is the casting numbers. Look for one of these heads to replace your cracked C8VE head.
