Difference between shift control solenoid and solenoid pack ?
Ive got a 2002 F250 SUPERDUTY 5.4 4X4 . After prolonged driving in hot weather i will leave a stop light and it wants to stay in 1st gear unless i let off the gas, and then theres a clunk into 2nd and then it hard shifts into the other gears. i can drive back and forth to work (10 miles) everyday, no problem. but on longer drives it acts up. but the last time it acted up it was an hour away from home, i got on the highway and problem was gone next time i started in first. tranny fluid is at proper level and nice and red. replaced throttle position sensor. still acts up. have been reading about solenoid pack but advanced auto only has shift control solenoid ($45.00) for 4 gear automatic.(mine is automatic). question is, is the solenoid pack the same as the shift control solenoid and does this sound like the problem to you guys! any help would be greatly appreciated !
