I recently purchased a 97 F-350. I’ve wanted this model and body style since 1994 so I’m stoked. Will someone please help me identify three electrical connectors/housing located under the dash near the center. The one to the bottom left of the glove compartment is labeled “data link connector” and from my research I believe this is for a computer scanner similar to the EEC systems. Is this correct? What are the other two? Below is a link to the picture of the two connectors (it only looks like one the way I'm holding them). I sincerely appreciate your attention. Thanks.
I have one and they were an add on option like he said designed for tow trucks, ambulances etc. great for long idle, PTO operation, warm up on cold mornings, or jump starts. You can find em on ebay the ones for superduty work on the OBS but the bracketry is different.
Hey, quit stealing my pics from Webshots! The AIC will work for a 6 leaker too. I love mine. But... those plugs aren't for the AIC.
The "data link" plug is what you connect a code reader to so you can read trouble codes if your check engine light comes on.
The plug to the left in your pic (6pin) is for a trailer brake controller. The plug to the left (4pin) I have no idea what its for, but I know one of the wires is a switched 12v. The plug for the AIC is round and has 4 pins. The location for this plug varies, mine was near the trailer brake control pointed toward the driver's side (IIRC) in my OBS. I can try to get a pic if needed.

It has not 4 pin, only has 3-pin and could be the RABS Data Link Connector (C143). The wires should be Light Green with a Black Trace (Differential Speed Sensor-High) and Red with a Pink Trace (Differential Speed Sensor-Low). BTW is on the right in the pic. LOL

Well, I was standing on my head when I looked at the pic and posted my reply
