ll the Tranny was around 180 last night. Cel set off and the overdrivelight started flashing. Shifted hard from the line pressure increase Shifted hard from the line pressure increase. Hooked up the snap on scanner and there are no codes. I wonder if its from the ATS torque convertor controller in conjunction with the exhaust brake. Why would there be no codes? exhaust brake. Why would there be no codes?
Were you driving when it started flashing, or were you sitting still? If you were driving when it first came on, what gear were you in? Sometimes when the O/D light starts flashing it is sensing an electrical problem that causes the torque converter to stay unlocked, Does the O/D light come on right after you start the truck or do you have to drive it to make it come on? I'm not really that knowledgable about auto trannies, so hopefully some one who knows more than I do will say something!!

I was driving and it was in 2nd or third taking off from a light when it happened. Went away in about 15 seconds.
Hard shifting tranny + blinking OD light. This could be the sensor that is on top of the rear differential. Clean it or replace it, around $15.00 at my local NAPA store & they even had one in stock.
Real simple fix!

Didn't happen today yet... The speedometer is not bouncing like the last one did. So i dunno about the VSS being the issue. Im just amazed it has no stored codes for the transmission...
It should store a code unless the issue is in the power/ground supply side of the pcm.

Well I have driven the truck for now two days and about 90 miles now. It has not happened again. If it were the VSS, would there be a Code showing VSS?
