Battery Situation

While I was on vacation last week one of the neighbors accepted a UPS package for me. She put it in my truck but left the door ajar and the interior lights stayed on for almost a week. They were very dim. I put my charger on the passenger side battery but it wouldn't accept a 2,15 or 40 amp charge.(voltage stayed about 11 volts). I jump started it and drove around about 30 minutes. My Insight reads about 12.6 volts. Previously it read about 13.4 volts. Should I replace the 2 year old batteries or drive it a few more days to see if the voltage comes back up?

I would check the fluids, if possible, and top off then charge on as low as you can for as long as you can. Driving on "dead" batteries will kill your alternator. You can take them and have them load tested, but it's possible they were just that "dead".

If they are only 2 years old, if they are decent batteries, they should still be under a full replacement warranty. Even if it was not the batteries fault.
