Hard shifting
Last year I had a Valare clutch put in and since then it has been somewhat hard to shift. Well it's steadily getting worse, reverse, low and first mainly. Almost 3 years ago I put in the pre-bled slave and master clutch hydralics in. Do you all think it's time for a new slave and master or could it be something else. The tranny seems extemely warm to the touch and I don't think it was that way before the new clutch went in. Thanks, Bill

I just went out and checked the fluid level after it's been shut down for an hour or so, tranny still really warm as was the fluid that came out the hole. I felt the cooling lines to the radiator and they were cool, like no fluid is flowing thru them.

Me thinks I found the problem. I looked under the dash and worked the clutch peddle by hand and found some slop in it, not much, mainly were the push-rod connects to the peddle. Bought a new retainer-bushing from Ford, at 7 bucks for a piece of plastic,(ouch). This improved it some, better than what it was, shifts about the same as when I bought it. Also wrapped a piece of wire around the master cyl. to hold it tighter against the firewall. I read sometime back where Kwik or dead (Dan) did this.
