hey guys got bored over the 4th and pulled my bed... I need to replace the sending unit on my rear tank, but don't know the size??? I've never filled it up so I can't tell there either... it is the rear tank and is OEM size... Rock auto offers a 16, 17, and 19 gal sending unit. How do I know which one i need? Also should i get new fuel tank and sending unit lock rings? I know this is a simple thing but I honestly don't know how to figure it out...
Is it an xcab (cab and a half, extra cab, etc., NOT crew cab)?
If you have a regular cab/shortbed, your front tank is 16.0 gallons.
Otherwise, I think it's the opposite of what Old93junk said--the FRONT is 19.0 gallons and the REAR is 18.2 gallons. Both my '90 F150 (regcab/longbed) was and my '93 F250 (xcab/longbed) is that way.

Your right.......19.1 front, 18.2 rear F-250/350 x-cab long bed.
actual fill capacity is more, about 20 1/2 front, 19 1/2 gal. rear. I cry every time I fill both tanks.
great thanks guys... I think numberdummy is working on ford part numbers for me now. I just didn't want to order parts that I would have to ship right back. Thanks for the help!
