Im not a mechanic so i need some help. I got the filter on and ready to roll except for the hoses. the top hose is obviouse where it goes. I dont know where the other one goes with the bigger aluminum tee. I just dont want to make a mistake. Is there any pics or is it so easy that someone can just tell me. F250 2004
Just installed one and Steve is right, keep in mind that if your vehicle came with the optional heater valve I believe its called ( you can't miss it) in that heater hose then you must install the aluminum T on the front side ( radiator side) of the valve.
Guys i dont think you understood what i said, i dont care if i sound like the dumbest human on the planet right now. I literally dont know which hose it is. can someone somehow tell me exactly which one it is, or show me somehow. i am willing to pay i just want to finish installing this thing. About where you guys are talking about i see that there is two of those hoses about the same size. the one runs across the dash and the other goes into the engine and comes toward the center. which one? if anyone can show me i appreciate.
Dyllan, 2 things, 1. don't ever worry about asking questions, that's what this forums all about and that's what we all do. 2. Don't pay anyone to do this, keep asking questions till your comfortable with which hose is the right hose. This is not a difficult job and you can do it. If my truck was here I would take a picture of it and send it to you. The hose comes from the back of the engine( firewall) on the passenger side, and goes over the passenger side valve cover to the very front of the vehicle. The inside diameter is approximately the same size as the two larger fittings on the silver aluminium t fitting. The hose goes right past the engine oil fill tube and again if your truck has the optional heater valve, splice the t in foward of the valve. If your still not 100% sure I will have my truck back in a couple of days and I'll take a picture. Keep taking baby steps and eventually you'll know that engine like the back of your hand. Maybe someone who's truck is available can send you a pic. Good luck, Kelly
Look closely at the pictures sent to you by Steve, especially picture 4.4 in picture 9 of 11. Look at the transmission dipstick and the oil fill tube and look at your engine. It will begin to make sense. Good Luck, Kelly
From front of motor. See hose just to the right of the "green handle pointing to the windshield?
Now see the hose where it comes out from under CAC tube and next to alternator? See my Aluminum "T"?
And this is where your new hose from coolant filter goes around CAC tube to the heater hose. Tight? yes it is, but can be done. See the little gray hose? If you have one, don't forget to plug it back into the valve there by where it says "Engine" on the filler cap

Those pictures are good, they show how the hose ends up on the black tube that bolts to the alternator. Hope that clarifies it. If not keep asking, now back to the Deadliest Catch. I feel for Phil's kids.
I figured it out now, not that big of a deal but without you guys i would have been looking at this thing for hours, just wanted to thank everyone again.
