Discussion-modification suspencion
I never drive on SUV. The reason for this, I am very don’t like a suspension on SUV. It is very soft and fills very unstable on the road.
I am strong believed that is reason for often rollover. Now, I have to buy and drive SUV. My chose is Ford Escape 2005/2006. I have made test drive on different brand SUV. During the test I realized that 4x4 SUV holds road much better and driving much comfortable.
The question is: is it possible to make suspension on 2x4 Ford Escape more stable, better handling the road by replacing shock absorbers and springs?
Another question is what model or some advice for this modification.
Thanks you everyone for help and advice.

The rollover of an SUV is going to be dependant on a lot of factors. The one that causes the most rollovers- driver error. I have taken our Tribute around some serious corners at speed and never had any issues.
4wd is going to feel/be more stable because it is using all corners to power in/out of a turn.
You could get stiffer springs but then your ride is going to be harsh. If you're looking at a 4-5 year old vehicle, it may need new shocks to start so the ride will be where it should.

Thanks for your opinion.
There are some subtle differences between the versions of the Escape family. The Mazda Tribute will handle better with less oversteer and body roll than will the Escape. I don't know if this is due to differences in shocks, springs or roll bars but I own one of each and they are quite different. Also, I think the Escape has gotten a bit softer with their more recent models. A good set of performance struts might be a worthy investment.
