Can anyone tell me how an ignition key would all of the sudden become uncoded?Recently my key will just let the motor turn over and not start.Driving me crazy. THANKS!
if the key is the problem you should have rapidly blinking theft lamp.the starter interupt varries, some have it some dont. i'm pretty sure the explorer DOES.
I have 2 keys, the one key will start the vehicle just fine , but the other key will only let the engine crank over but no start . This key will make the theft light flash rapidly as well.

When the anti-theft kicks in, it allows the engine to turn over but not fire. Also, the anti-theft light will flash rapidly.
As to the one key not working, you'll have to have your local dealer re-program that key. There are various reasons that could cause this: Any larger metal object coming near the ignition when you're trying to start it (like a heavy house key), magnetic interference, moisture, etc...
