HI folks, i need some help in deciding what kind of shocks to replace my stockers with?? I have a 2001 f-150, 5.4L 4x4 with a smittybuilt push bar on the front. I think my fronts are shot maybe b/c of the driving i once did with the truck or the extra weight in the front for the push bar. I like the spring type feel but want something that will absorb the potholes!!! I know most of the major brands but the terminology eludes me, mono vs twin, nitro vs hydrualic vs cellular gas shocks?!?!? I am used to the old monroe shocks but not sure how well they would hold up on this truck. I am used to racing the sock from the time you cut that plastic cord to puttin it in place!!!! hehehe...i want what i would call a charged shock, one that self expands. I had a bad experience with a set of ranchos and well was replaced after a month!! so any help would be appreciated!!! thanks.
i have superlifts on my truck, i have been told they are crap, but they work for me... im used to riding in rough driving trucks so i can't tell the difference one way or the other so its all good for me. but you will definitely be happy with those first two i mentioned. they are two of the best names out there.
