tie rods???

hey i am curious what this means, the passenger side front tire has wear on the outside of the tire and and not the inside does this mean tie rods? or alignment? the truck pulls alittle to the right but its always been like that, just never had the wearing on the outside of the tire until now. oh its a 2006 ford f250 4x4, the tires are getting to the point of replacement, any help is great thanks

It means your camber adjustment is off on that side.

You need to have the trucks front suspension inspected and aligned. Don't be surprised if they say your ball joints are toasted.

Here is a good short article on alignment, symptoms and corrections:

i lifted the front of the truck up and tried seeing if the tire had play and it didn't other then that front bar going across to the other tire. movement up and down was very little, i don't know if this is a good way to be certain its not ball joints but i would like to go into a shop knowing whats wrong and what isn't. that front bar running across to both tires should that have any play? it only has play going one way like if i pull hard on the front of the passenger tire it moves and when i pull on the back side of the driver front tire it moves, neither tire moves any more then that up or down just one what i explained, i'm hoping that the ball joints are ok.

Sounds like the tie rod ends, but they will not create a wear pattern like the image I posted above. The tie rod ends control the toe-in or toe-out. If they are loose or the toe is off you will see a feathering pattern across the tread of the tire.

Ball joints are not a huge issue. Don't be afraid of having them replaced.

If you don't trust your alignment shop, find another or get a second opinion.
