4wd brake rotor
hey i got a 1999 f-250 4x4. i was wondeiing if any one has replaced the rotors or have had thier rotors turned? mine are uneven and there is a shake when i hit the brakes. i was just wondering if this is easy or hard? on my old ford ranger 4x4 i had to get a special socket to take off the 4wd nut andalso i had to take off alot fo parts in side the hub. on my friends chevy which is a 99 all he has to do unbolt the rotor and it comes off there is nothing else to take off. hard or not?

I've replaced and resurfaced lots of rotors on these. You dont need any special tools....the rotor is held on by the wheel. You have to remove the caliper bracket and then the rotor slides right off.

I think that my '03 X has the same rear rotors. I switched out to ART rotors a couple of weeks ago. The rear rotors are easy to get off. Make sure that you release the parking brake.
