The timing marks seem to be on the crank sensor side of the water pmp near the peep hole when I try to adjust the timing. The timing marks are on the driver side of the truck I have set TDC and Plug and cap. I have pulled the timing spout and used a iductive timing light with no avail. Any ideas
I dealt with this. My timing marks are as inaccurate as can be. To verify, find TDC with your eyes. Shine a light in on the #1 piston and find TDC that way. Use an extension and try to get it dead on. You can watch the rocker arms through the oil cap to make sure they are both up.
When you have found TDC, align your rotor with number one on the cap. I marked where TDC was (mine is the most forward bolt of the oil pan). Yea to see the timing mark I have to lay on the ground underneath the truck. I marked TDC with whiteout and used my timing light on that. With engine completely warm, timing is 10* BTDC @ 800 RPMS, so I also timed it to where it'd sit steady at 800 RPMS. Doing it that way my mark I made was a TAD bit off, but not much haha.
I'm ordering a balancer next check. Already rented the puller.
