could the steel plates drain my batteries 0n 99 7.3
I noticed that the canvass on the places where by batteries sit is gone. It once had a canvas bottom where the batteries sat. The canvas was ripping si I decided to go ahead and rip all of it out thus leaving a steel plates for my batteries to sit on and they seem to have had a slow drain ever since. should i keep sometging to seperate the batts from steel like a blanket or foam pad?

I doubt it. Most of my other vehicles have their battery sitting directly on a metal battery tray and they seem to be fine.
My truck is notoriously hard on batteries. Has been that way since day one. The last time I replaced batteries, I put a piece of 3/8" cork under both of them to see if that will control any vibrations they may be experiencing in hopes they last longer.
Jury is still out. If they last past August of 2011 then the cork is working.
