I'm in need of a top for the fuse box in the engine bay. I called the dealer and told him what I was looking for. He said the part is obsolete. Are there any other obsolete Excursion parts I should be aware of?
i doubt that part is obsolete since the EX and super duty trucks are basically the same. you could probably find one at a local junk yard off of a super duty that will work for you........
that guy obviously has no clue what he's talking about......
I told him maybe the same part was used on f250;s or f350's. He said nope, it's Excursion specific and obsolete. I really don't believe him. I need to call one of the dealerships in the city.

What year is your X?
IIRC, a manufacturer has to continue to maike/maintain parts for either 10 or 20 years. At least that is what I ran into with my Landcruiser and Toyota parts.
Looking at a few pictures of an f250, looks mighty similar to my central junction box, I'd say they're the same/interchangeable. I've run in to idiots who don't like Ford, or the excursion for whatever reason and just don't want to help me, can't help it, those people are out there. Better chance is remembering who you talked to the last time, then ask for someone else. I deal with 1 person, and 1 person only at my local ford house, he owns an EX.

the cover for the eng compartment fuse panel is not obsolete.
I pulled it off a superduty. The parts guy did say obsolete. I have a feeling he's the same guy who told me I did not need speed nuts to mount factory running boards on an f150 a few months ago.
