Paint issue

I have a 2001 Ranger with a 4.0 and almost all the paint off the roof. It stared with just a small spot and the almost all of the paint came off. What i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem or is it rater uncommon. Should i redoit myself or do you think that i should just take it in and bite the bullet?

There were some paint issues for a while with the Rangers so it's a fairly common issue. For the repaint, it depends on if you have the money/time to let a shop do it or if you feel good enough with your own ability to give it a try. Get a couple of estimates first so that you know what you might have to pay and how long they need the truck. At least if you do it yourself and it doesn't turn out well you could still take it to a shop.

Most shops will charge more to clean up your mess than they would to fix it themselves the first time. I work in a collision repair shop, and I can assure you that we will charge more after you work on it yourself and mess up a paint job. Chances are we will have to strip your paint back off and start from scratch, which means more material and more labor than the original estimate.
