Monroe Reflex Shocks

I have a 2005 Excursion diesel and need new shocks. Does anyone have experience with these. I could also get OEM from my dealer.
Thanks

I have a 2003 EX w/7.3; put Reflex all the way around about 4 months ago. No complaints; good ride all around and handles well even when I am trailering my Jeep. I think they are a good deal for the money; just my 2 cents!

I don't particularly care for them, but you should get them at O'reilly auto. They come with a lifetime warranty, so once you pay for them, it's the last time you pay for them.

I had a bad experience with them so I would not even consider them, but that's just me.

Rockauto.com beats O'Reilly's price by almost 50%.
Same warranty,better service,great price.

Advance Auto Parts has 20% off with free shipping. Not sure about warranty.

I just put a set on. Huge difference from original although I waited a long time & miles to replace the shocks.

Same rules, lifetime warranty...

I'd use the 20% off coupon to buy yourself some Moog Balljoints, I did and it save me a nice chunk of change. The savings more than covered the cost of the grease I needed.

Big difference is that you can walk into O'Reilly's and get them replaced right then and there. With Rockauto, as with any other internet shop, you'll have to send them back and wait until the new ones arrive. Leaving your truck down for days.... For me that's not worth the savings. There's something to be said about personal service and O'Reilly Auto does a good job!!!

I already have purchased the ball joints. The Ex had some problems and has been in the shop (It's a 6.0). I got it out now and will be changing the ball joints soon, just thought it would be a good time to change the shocks also. They are original, and she has 169K on them.

Not in my experience with Rockauto. They send me a calltag for no charge shipping, and as soon as that calltag is scanned in the system as dropped off/shipped,they ship your replacement parts. The most time I've been delayed with a return with them has been 2 days. Or you can simply pay them to send you a new set, and when they receive your return, they credit you back 100%. O'Reilly's may be local, but nothing justifies almost a 100% markup just because of that. $38.99 each for the shocks vs $69.99 is a HUGE difference.

That would be a huge difference if it were true. I just looked up Monroe Reflex shocks for a 2005 Excursion. 51.99/ea Monroe 911175 - Shock Absorber 2005 Ford Excursion | O'Reilly Auto Parts Rock auto charges $38.79 for the same part number PLUS $7.57 shipping. So the true cost of that shock is $46.36. Difference of $5.63. I'll support my local businesses for that small of a difference.
