will a bad proportioning valve make the front brakes hang up? I took one off of a 77 f250 4x4 and could not get any fluid out the rear wheels so i took the 1 off of my 79 f150 that the brakes were hanging up on and I put it on my 74 f250 4x4 with front disks on it now those are hanging up! Any help would be great
Master cylinder is new! Just find it weird that both would hang up with that valve? tore the one apart that wouldnt bleed otut the back cleaned it put it on 79 f150 and would bleed out the back but not out the front now? There is not much to them dont understand why LMC wants 259 dollars
Sounds like you need a new proportioning valve... been lots of issues with these. Go to the salvage yard and grab a couple from some junkers. If you want ot spend the dough on a new one their are cheaper alternatives but you will have to change some lines around to make it work.
When Mine acted up I grabbed three from the local pick-a-part. Took all the lines off when I got home and blew some compressed air through the ports to make sure it worked before I hooked it up to the truck! The first one I checked worked fine so I just tossed the other two in the parts bin.
