This is the first ford motor I have ever messed with and have run into trouble. In the process of replacing intake and carb on a 302, one of the intake bolts broke off in the head. Needless to say I pulled the head, got the bolt out and am now putting everything back together. Here is the problem, while adjusting the rocker arm nuts, I have been trying to do it like a chevy motor and adjusting while the motor is running. The spec book I have says 17-23Lbs of torque. Seems to me that that much torque would push a valve intoa piston but doing it the way I have been, the rocker arm nuts seem to loosen up. On a Ford motor, do you torque the nuts down that much?
so, mr Jdogperson you, are you in the business of scalding dogs and seeing if they can outrun your truck? Naughty man.....but I do have a mother-in-law that I would like to see ourun my Conversion van.......
Ahh yes, the mother-in-law. I'm sure we could open a new thread on that. We know that what your really trying to say is, you would like to see your mother-in-law NOT outrun your van!! Actually you should be ashamed at making a statement like this. It's time to re-think this. A different solution is needed. Man, ya gotta start thinking about what is really important in life. You haven't even considered that serious damage could be done to your.... VAN!!
